MUST-HAVES FOR THE COTTAGE
By Francesca Brunsden, Social Media Manager, and Mom
With cottage season underway, it's an exciting time to get away from the city. Visiting a cottage is the perfect summer vacation option for parents with small kids or babies.
Packing for your cottage getaway can be a real challenge. It's particularly difficult when you're not sure exactly what is available at your rental unit or what you left at your own cottage from last season. Here are some must-haves from my own cottage packing list.
THE PACKING LIST
Even if your cottage isn't on the equator, we all know how important it is to keep our littles protect from the harmful rays of the sun. The bold Globetrotter Sun Hat by Little Hotdog Watson features UPF50+, a fashion-forward leopard print pattern, and a cute bow in the back. It's also coated with a clever built-in mosquito repellant.
The Goldilocks fabric keeps your child's head the perfect temperature. The handy Velcro fastened chin strap on sizes up to age 3 keeping even the wriggliest kiddo protected. And it's completely machine washable. Bonus!
There's nothing better than spending a day at the beach, digging sand castles and playing in the water. Unfortunately, most beach toys these days don't last. Their bucket handle will break as they fill it with water and their shovel will snap as they dig a moat. The designers at the Belgian toy company Quut think that's ridiculous! So they'll build toys that are unbelievably fun and they last... season after season. Let's face it, if your kids are happy, everyone is happy!
I don't know how many time I've forgotten to pack my kid's pajamas. Be sure you don't make the same mistake! Make it easier to remember by investing in special cottage pajamas, perfect for any bedtime adventure. These sets are so cute you won’t mind if they're still wearing them the next day!
Whatever you take to the cottage this season, I hope you have a great time with your whole family. If you happen to be in Muskoka, be sure to check out our summer-long Container Boutique at Summer Water Sports in Minett. If you do forget anything important, we’ll have everything you need.About the Author
