Hey Guys,
Now that I am back in Toronto, really for the first time since March 2020, I am relearning my city. Going to old favourites and exploring new spots.
Her Majesty’s Pleasure
I love going to the King Street location to get a manicure or pedicure. In fact, I am taking advantage of their BYOC promo for my birthday this weekend. Check out the amazing nail art I got last time at HMP.
Sous La Face
We are obsessed with their RRR: it is life-changing! This is not your average facial the radical radiance regime is Toronto’s newest buccal massage located in the beautiful Yorkville neighbourhood. The RRR combines traditional ancient science sculpting with the latest microcurrent technology to leave your skin hydrated, lifted and youthful.
Terroni on Queen
An absolute staple here in Toronto! The thought of sitting on its back patio drinking a Negroni got me through a lot of the dark days of the pandemic. My go-to order? Tonnarelli alla Norcina.
SUD Forno
Their sourdough is a favourite for Evan. I also love grabbing the Nutella mini donuts for my nephew, Sam. Pro tip: grab Terroni Peppers to dip your sourdough bread.
Maha’s
Egyptian brunch and probably my go-to brunch place in the city. If you haven’t gone, don’t walk… run. My go-to order? The Chef’s Appetizer Platter is a great introduction to the restaurant. Evan’s go-to order? The Cairo Classic. Make sure you also get the Cardamon Latte!
Bang Bang
Legendary ice cream sandwiches. It reminds me of a spot in Halifax near Dalhousie that we used to visit during university. You pick your cookie and ice cream for a tailored-to-you ice cream sandwich experience. My go-to order? The dark chocolate cookie with vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Agora
This place is great for Uber Eats. My order is usually the chicken souvlaki. Ordering with a bunch of friends? Make sure you get the dips. Our favourite? The Spicy Feta Dip.
Bar Chef
Insane cocktails! Evan last time had absinthe, and it was definitely an experience. It comes out in a fountain… yup, you read that correctly.
Le Gourmand on Spadina
Best Chocolate Chip Cookies! They are truly epic. Chocolate chip with and without walnuts. I was heartbroken when Portland Variety closed a few years ago, but I am so happy the cookie lives on.
Alobar in Yorkville
From the bread to the oysters and everything in between. Make sure you have a reservation!
